Which function do I need?

• Passage: no lock. Hallways, closets, pantries, laundry and kids' rooms.
• Privacy: a push-button lock on the inside with an emergency release on the outside. Bedrooms and bathrooms.
• Dummy: no latch and no bore hole. Surface mounted for closet pairs, the inactive side of French doors and pantry pairs.

What your specialist will confirm with you

• Door handing: stand on the side the door swings away from and look at the hinges. Hinges on the left means left handed, on the right means right handed. We'll double-check it with you.
• Backset: the standard latch is 2-3/8". 2-3/4" is available if your doors are bored for it.
• Door thickness: standard sets fit doors 1-1/4" to 2" thick with a standard 2-1/8" bore. Tell us if your doors are thicker.
• Latch plate: square or round corner, to match how your doors are prepped.
• Concealed screws: an upgrade that hides the mounting screws for a cleaner look, about $47 more per set. It fits doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick.
• Stretto plates: need a 1-1/4" bore, and a two-hole prep for privacy.
