Which function do I need?
- Passage: no lock. Hallways, closets, pantries, laundry and kids' rooms.
- Privacy: a push-button lock on the inside with an emergency release on the outside. Bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Dummy: no latch and no bore hole. Surface mounted for closet pairs, the inactive side of French doors and pantry pairs.
Most homes need more than one. Tell us how many of each and we'll build the list.
What your specialist will confirm with you
- Backset: the standard latch is 2-3/8". 2-3/4" is available if your doors are bored for it.
- Door thickness: standard sets fit doors 1-1/4" to 2" thick with a standard 2-1/8" bore. Tell us if your doors are thicker.
- Latch plate: square or round corner, to match how your doors are prepped.
- Concealed screws: an upgrade that hides the mounting screws for a cleaner look, about $41 more per set. It fits doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick.
